About

Pawel Groth discovered his love of mixing at the age of 12. Self-taught and inspired by the music of Yello, Aphex Twin, and Moby, as well as early UK garage mixtapes from England, he taught himself how to DJ.

In the early 2000s, he got his first gigs in Hamburg's club scene and, under the DJ name Tonik, played a wide range of electronic music - from house in early clubs to hard trance and harder styles.

In the 2010s, he initiated and hosted the online radio show “Miniaturklang” on BunkerTV Radio with changing guest DJs, which enjoyed great popularity.

With a focus on minimal and techno, he made a conscious decision to perform under his real name and has been producing his own tracks for 10 years now, which regularly find their way into one set or another.

His current spectrum ranges from minimal and progressive to peak time techno – reduced, driving, and uncompromisingly geared towards the dance floor.
